24/7 Express Logistics Extends U.S. EPA SmartWay® Transport Partnership

24/7 Express Logistics is proud to announce they recently received approval for renewal of their registration as SmartWay® Transport Partner. SmartWay is an innovative collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the logistics industry. 24/7 Express Logistics’ SmartWay Transport Partnership contributes to the program’s overall objective of providing a framework for assessing the environmental and energy efficiency of supply chains.

How do SmartWay Partnerships impact the environment?

By working with supply chain providers like 24/7 Express Logistics, the SmartWay Partnership program has saved 336 million barrels of oil, $44.8 billion on fuel costs and 143 million metric tons of CO2, 2.7 million short tons of NOx and 112,000 short tons of PM – the equivalent of the annual electricity use in 21 million homes. Joining the SmartWay Transport Partnership program is one of the ways 24/7 Express Logistics demonstrates its strong environmental leadership and corporate responsibility as a top-tier freight and courier services provider in the Midwest.

The SmartWay program was developed in 2003 as a joint effort of the EPA and Charter Partners represented by industry stakeholders, environmental groups, American Trucking Associations, and Business for Social Responsibility. 24/7 Express Logistics and other program partners rely upon SmartWay tools and approaches to track and reduce emissions and fuel use from logistics  transportation. The Partnership currently has nearly 4,000 Partners including shipper, logistics companies, truck, rail, barge, and multimodal carriers.
